Eugenia Wie, a Chicago, IL native, began her studies at the age of five and was broadcast in her first radio performance at the age of nine on Chicago Public Radio. She has traveled extensively throughout her career including performances throughout Europe, Asia, and North and South America. She has performed at various music festivals including Masterclasses at the Academie de Musique in Lausanne, Schleswig-Holstein Masterclass Sessions, the International Seminar at Prussia Cove, and the Banff Center for the Arts. She has also given recitals and chamber music performances at Hasselburg Castle in Germany, Groznjan Castle in Croatia with members of the Guerzenich Orchester where the performances were also broadcast over Croatian National Radio, and St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York.
She completed her undergraduate degree at Rice University where she was a pupil of Sergiu Luca and continued her studies with Daniel Phillips of the Orion String Quartet. She was also a recipient of the Frank Huntington Beebe Foundation Grant allowing her to take her studies abroad to Cologne, Germany. There, she studied with Ariane Daskalakis and Geoffrey Wharton and was a member of the Koelner Kammerorchester.
Since her return to Chicago, she has been an active chamber musician, member of the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Chicago and has taught at the Merit School of Music.
She currently is a member of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra in Madison, WI, chairs the Sejong Cultural Society Music Competition and is on violin faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago where she is also String Coordinator and Division Head of Chamber Music.
